INDIAN LAW ACADEMY’S Law Clerk certificate program provides in-depth training delivered by experienced professionals. As a law clerk, working under the direct supervision of a lawyer, you will be an important part of the team that allows the lawyer to succeed.
Your law clerk education includes courses on Introduction of Courts, Code of Criminal procedure, Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Rules and Orders, Civil Rules and Orders, High Court Original Side Civil Rules and Orders, High Court Appellate Side Civil Rules and Orders, Corporate and Family Laws, as well as in litigation, legal research, Oath Act, Court Fees Act, Registration Act, Real Estate Laws, Limitation Act and more. Your solid knowledge on diverse areas of law, competence in a range of legal and court procedures, and strong written and oral communication skills will make you a valuable team player in the profession.

In addition to the general admission requirements, students must have proof of English Proficiency and meet the requirements below.

SEMISTAR-1
LC 1- INTRODUCTION OF INDIAN LEGAL SYSTEM
LC-2 INDIAN COURTS AND THEIR POWER, FUNCTIONS and JURISDICTION
The student to know about the Indian Courts, such as devolution of courts and their power, functions and Jurisdiction. The student will also know about the other government offices which deal with Indian law, such as Tribunals, Forums, Major Offices of land Department, Registration offices where they will work in future.
The student to know about the different type of cases filing in Indian Courts. This section gives an overview of the court process in India, including a civil and criminal law suit, procedures proper to the commencement of proceedings and drafting including pleadings, affidavits, motions, using the Indian Court forms. The last part of the course will deal with the procedure and documents used in the process of: examination of discovery, overview of oral and documentary discovery, pre-trial and trial preparation, and the trial procedure.
LC-4 COURT PRECEDURE-2
The student to know about the differences between different types of case and their limitations. The student also knows about the different types of drafting both in Civil and Criminal cases and their filing procedure of the cases. To know about cause list (where cases has been list) and e-court filing and using e-courts APP.
LC-5 ROLE, TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF LAW CLERK-
This the main part of this curriculum. The student to know about their Roles, Tasks, Duties and responsibility in legal field as Law Clerk. Law Clerks perform a variety of legal tasks under the supervision of Lawyers, Solicitors, Barristers or senior Law Clerks of a court. A Law Clerk perform specialised clerical work associated with legal practice and law courts, with the exact nature of the determined by the area of law their employer specialises in. Law clerks may assist their employers in all area of law such as assisting with clerical tasks related to court proceedings, administrative tasks, and basic legal duties including drafting letters to clients or other parties, prepare legal documents, collect information’s/reports, getting Certified Copies from the Court, assisting with telephone inquiries, maintaining files, documents, accounts relationship with clients and monitoring the Indian legal system. The student will also know about the other government offices which deal with Indian law, such as Tribunals, Forums, Major Offices of land Department, Registration offices where they will work in future.
LC-6 VARIOUS SKILLS, ETHICS, IS REQUIRE TO BE A GOOD LAW CLERK
LC-7 PRACTICAL
A Law Clerk perform specialised clerical work associated with legal practice and law courts, with the exact nature of the determined by the area of law their employer specialises in. Law Clerks may assist their employers in all area of law such as assisting with clerical tasks related to court proceedings, administrative tasks, and basic legal duties including drafting letters to clients or other parties, prepare legal documents, write reports, assisting with telephone inquiries, maintaining files, documents, accounts, relationship with clients and meetings.
It will also introduce the student to legal terminology and citation, legal correspondence, and legal documents. The student will learn techniques to organize job searches, draft cover letters, and tailor resumes specifically for law firms.
LC- 8 Overview of Law Clerks Act
The student to know about the West Bengal Law Clerk Act and their right to work the provision of law and their jurisdiction of work. We will Also help them to Enroll them as Law clerk in West Bengal Law Clerk Council,
